There are many different types of sub genre romantic films. I have picked three and I am going to go through each sub genre and give an example of each with the trailer to each movie.
Thriller
An example of a romantic thriller is 'Mr and Mrs Smith'. I have watched this movie so long ago so I am a bit rusty on it so I have taken the blurb from IMDb:

'A bored married couple is surprised to learn that they are both assassins hired by competing agencies to kill each other.' However they end up in love. An example of this is the movie called 'Blended'. This movie is one of my very favourites. Adam Sandler is an amazing actor and to me has a great sense of humour! Most of his movies are 'rom-coms', this being one of his latest movies. He just released a new movie called 'Pixels' which I have not seen but I have heard great things about it.

I was surprised to find that most of the nominations that this movie got were very negative. However the movie had 11 nominations. More information about what these nominations were can be found here.
After having a monstrous date, Jim and Lauren agree to never see each other again. However they end up finding each other in a Safari in Africa with their children. They end up falling in love.
The film is very heart warming and so funny. I would really recommend it!
